Compatible with Multiple Battery Types
The DC-DC battery charger delivers optimal charging for AGM, Flooded, Gel, and Lithium batteries.
Smart 3-Stage Charging
The DC-DC battery charger charges house batteries from the starter battery using a 3-stage charging process (Bulk, Boost, and Float), providing optimal and automatic charging up to 100% capacity.
Various Protections for Safety
The DC-DC battery charger isolates the input and output to prevent voltage transmission errors and interference during house battery charging. It features advanced safety technologies, including over-voltage protection, over-temperature protection, and reverse polarity protection, to ensure safer operation.
Protect Your Starter Battery
Compatible with both traditional and smart alternators, the D+ Ignition cable detects when the generator has started, preventing over-discharge of the starter battery and protecting the generator. It is recommended to use 18-16 AWG copper cable.
Protect Your House Battery
The LC wire automatically adjusts the charging current to prevent excessive current, protecting the house battery from potential damage. It is recommended to use 18-16 AWG copper cable for optimal performance.
Prolong Battery Lifespan
Prolong Battery Lifespan The charger selects the appropriate charging mode based on battery voltage. With the addition of a DC-DC temperature sensor, the charger protects batteries from extreme temperatures through a -3mV/°C/2V compensation, allowing the charger to recognize voltage more accurately and maintain stable, consistent charging. Note: The temperature sensor is not included and cannot be used with Lithium batteries.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is a DC-DC charger? What is its purpose?
The DC-DC battery charger is installed between the starter battery and the house battery. For the RV system, The generator ensures stable power supply to the starter battery, and uses the extra power of the starter battery to supply power to the house battery.
2. How to choose a suitable battery charger?
1. Make sure that the entire system is a 12V system 2. Ensure that the maximum charging current provided by the DC-DC battery charger does not exceed the maximum charging current allowed by the house battery
3. How to set the charging voltage value of the charger?
The DC-DC battery charger adopts the design of the DIP switch and it provides 6 charging voltage settings through five gears. These six charging voltages meet the requirements of lithium batteries and lead-acid batteries in order to provide more charging options. SW5 switch is the selection switch for switching between lead-acid batteries and lithium batteries.
4. What is the D+ Ignition cable? Is it necessary to connect?
The D+ Ignition cable is a design method used to identify whether the generator is started. This design method can well prevent the starting battery from being over-discharged during the charging process. When the generator is started, a signal will be obtained on the D+ Ignition cable, which will light up the indicator light of the charger. The DC-DC will not power on or operate until the D+ ignition cable is connected.
5. How can I get these cables?
The battery temperature sensor for DC-to-DC car battery chargers can be purchased at the Renogy store. The D+ ignition cable can be purchased at the local store or online, it suits both D+ and LC terminals. 18-16AWG copper cable recommended.

    It's loud

Posted by Talon Quek on Jun 29th 2023

Charger works I think, I have the pins set to where it should be charging at 14.6v but the most i've ever seen it go up to is 13.6v, but the battery doesn't die when I use it. But honestly I shouldn't have bought this and just continued to use my isolator because I have it tucked under my drivers seat and the noise is unbearable, i'm doing everything I can to quiet it down but they chose the worst fans to put in this thing it sounds like it's trying to take off.

Does a great job until you OVER LOAD IT!

Posted by Donald Lesicka on Jun 14th 2023

A year and a half ago, I purchased and installed the original Renogy 3000 watt inverter. I did not buy a protection plan that also covers your own mess-ups. Bought it again, with the Plan, this time. Now, I prolly won't over load the thing.

9 Months Later and Going Strong

Posted by S. Jennings on Jun 13th 2023

Installed 40A Renogy B-to-B charger in my A-Frame pop-up camper last year after upgrading the camper's \"house\" battery to a Lossigy 200ah LiFePO4 (Lithium-Iron-Phosphate) battery.? Reason?? The standard \"battery charge\" lead from the tow vehicle never supplied more than 8 amps, and so we had to drive for at least 12 hours to restore even 50% of the new battery's capacity!

    The phone support was essential.

Posted by Don A. on Jun 8th 2023

This thing does what I need. But there was a SHOW STOPPER hiccup. Being able to call Renogy turned things around. I was dead in the water here in the South Pacific. Not a place to get bad stuck.

    Works great

Posted by Edward seddon on May 17th 2023

I decided to try something different and hook the ignition line to my number 4 auxiliary switch in my jeep gladiator.? Works perfect, this way I can manually turn it on or off for my 2 deep cycle marine batteries that are mounting in a bed box.? The auxiliary switches automatically turn off when you shut the truck off, so no oopses can happen from the operator.? I also live in Alaska so having the on/off seperate from just the vehicle starting is a plus.? Winter time the engine and components are already under a lot of stress until they get up to temp, no need to add an extra 40amp draw on a cold motor every time you start the truck.

    it has its \"features\"

Posted by Amazon Customer on Apr 25th 2023

i like this a lot, use it.? i like renogy a lot.? great support. used in my rv.? my usage scenario -? when i leave my rv sit for awhile, week or more, i disconnect my chassis battery to prevent drain down. i do this by turning a battery disconnect that disconnects the ground wire on the chassis battery.? here is what you need to know - if you disconnect the ground input wire, the unit turns itself on, drains down the chassis battery until dead, then faults itself, will not un fault until you completly disconnect all wires from it.? i verified this undocumented \"feature\" with renogy, they acknowledge it.? I consider it a problem that renogy should fix, at least document it.? but, when it works, it works well, charges just like i want it to. and, it has a switchable configuration such that i can turn it on and off when i want to,? that is how i use it, that is how i like it.? i have solar, a 3000w inverter charger, lithium batteries.? all renogy.? it works well for me.
