Unprecedented Safety Design
The state-of-the-art battery management system (BMS) with high-performance dual-processors provides over 20 types of warnings and protections while maintaining a balanced voltage across all cells.
Self-Heating Function
The intelligent self-heating function will start operating automatically once the battery’s core temperature drops below 41°F (5°C), effortlessly keeping your battery charged in cold environments. Plus, this function is powered by the Charger/Controller's current instead of the battery itself.
Activation Switch
With the activation switch cable, now for the first time, you can turn on or off multiple batteries in parallel to ensure the safety of installation and use.
Enhanced Ways to Monitor
You can connect the battery monitor directly via CAT cable without purchasing an additional coulometer. You can also use the BT-2 Bluetooth & DC HOME app to monitor multiple battery states in real-time.
The Ultimate Quality
The next-level pouch cells surpass severe high temperature and puncture tests to avoid fire or explosion. The battery cell not only passes the UL1642 but also offers over ten years of lifespan with more than 4,000 cycles (80% DOD).

So far so good. Using the battery in our teardrop camper, and just used it for the first time over the weekend. Works as expected, and no issue in the cold (got below 32F the first night). We'll see how it holds up, but so far performance is great and Renogy info and shipping was quick and easy.

So I bought one of these late fall, at the end of camping season so I could get used to using it on my parked RV over the winter, to see how it worked. I ran a direct sonic mouse away thing on it with a 200w solar panel to keep it charged. It wasn't (the RV) parked to a place that was easy to get to so the panel often got covered up by snow and sure enough after about two months of not paying attention to it I went down and checked and the panel read like it wasn't connected to anything. I was disappointed and worried I'd have to figure out how to send it back and such, procrastinated for another month and on a warmer day went down and took a good good look at it. On a whim I plugged the ethernet cord/power switch to it and pressed it, sure enough the BMS had turned the battery to shelf mode. Charged up to full on two sunny days and all was well. I'm expecting to be able to camp with a decent amount of sunlight and run my larger dorm fridge without too much of a problem with two batteries for at least a few days, but that'll take a bit more testing and another battery. As other reviews have mentioned, one of the biggest selling points of this battery is the "I don't have to worry about it" and although it was disappointing that the mouse thing drained the battery (I'm not entirely sure it works all that properly), the battery wasn't damaged like a lead acid battery would be. Before this happened I did go down to the RV one day when it was really cold and monitored it for a few hours. It barely got any charge from the solar panel but slowly warmed up and once it got up well over 40F suddenly the majority of power was going into recharging the battery. That isn't surprising as that's exactly what its supposed to do.
-Smart self-heating ensures consistent charging in cold weathers.
-Grade-A & UL-listed pouch cells with over 6000 cycles.
-Activation switch for safer installation & use.
-Auto-balancing up to 8 batteries in parallel.
-Monitor real-time power via CAT communication port.

NOTE
  • Please secure all cable connections to the proper specification in order to ensure good contact between the cable lugs and the terminals. Over-tightening cable connections can cause terminal breakage and loose cable connections can cause terminal meltdown or fire.
  • DO NOT string the battery in series. ONLY connect batteries of the same manufacturer and model in parallel.
  • Please avoid too high a voltage difference between paralleled batteries, despite the auto-balancing function, to avoid triggering the over-current protection.

1. What are the advantages of the Renogy LiFePO4 battery?

Firstly, our lifepo4 batteries use the most up-to-date pouch cell technology. Currently, there are a few lithium phosphate battery brands on the market using pre-used battery cores, which will harm the battery’s life span and present safety risks. In addition, Renogy 12 volt lithium ion batteries feature self-heating functions, an auto-balancing system, and an advanced and efficient BMS system. Finally, we provide a 5-year industry-leading warranty on all Renogy lifepo4 batteries.

2. What is the benefit of lifepo4 batteries using pouch cells?

The pouch cell refers to the use of aluminum-plastic film as the packaging material of the battery cells. The Renogy 12V lithium ion batteries all use pouch cells, however, the vast majority of 12 volt batteries on the market still use metal shell cells. Compared with the metal shell of the same capacity, the pouch cell battery is lighter in weight and has better cycling performance. When safety problems occur, gas and heat can be released through the sealing mouth of the pouch cells to avoid the further triggering reaction. By contrast, steel and aluminum cells have a higher possibility of explosion.

3. What does the external battery switch of the Renogy 12V lithium ion battery do?

Our 12 volt lithium ion batteries come with an external activation switch, which can be used to turn off the battery, and the BMS with one key when the battery is not needed to work. In this way, it can reduce the self-consumption of the 12 volt rechargeable battery, making it safer to store and prolong the battery life.

4. How long will a Renogy 100 amp hour lithium battery last?

The Renogy 12V 100 amp hour lithium battery is capable of 4000 cycles. This means if you live a completely off-grid life, calculated at the rate of a full charge and discharge per day, you will be able to use the 12 volt lithium battery in the best condition for more than 10 years. After that, the efficiency of the battery will drop to 80% of the factory performance, but it is still good enough for normal useage.

5.How many Renogy 12 volt lithium ion batteries can I connect to at most?

Please connect your batteries in parallel, we recommend a maximum of 4 batteries in parallel, and our automatic battery balancing system allows you to achieve parallel connection safely.

6. How do I monitor the battery status?

This 12 volt rechargeable lithium battery will not charge and enters a low-temperature protection stage if the charging environment is below 32°F(0°C ). If you buy this Renogy Lithium-iron Phosphate battery without a self-heating function, please pay attention to timely charging it at the appropriate temperature to prevent the battery from over-discharging. Safe charging requires battery temperatures between 32°F and 131°F (0°C and 55°C). By minimizing exposure to conditions that accelerate degradation, Lithium-iron Phosphate batteries can last longer.

7.What should I do when I receive the battery?

When you receive your battery, please be aware that it may have a low State of Charge (SOC) due to the transportation and storage process. To ensure its optimal performance, we recommend charging the battery right away to avoid over-discharge.

If you plan to store the battery for an extended period without usage, we suggest charging it to a SOC of 30% to 50% and performing maintenance every three months. These steps will help maintain its functionality and performance over time.

    Works as adveritsed

Posted by Antti Virolainen on Jan 31st 2024

I bought this last summer for my camper van. I use the additional display to see the status and the battery has been holding up well to it's spec and also charging while driving in the Finnish winter with sub-zero temperatures, so it seems like the heating function works as it is supposed to. Overall, happy at this point and no complaints. ?

Smallest 100Ah batterypack with moderate performance

Posted by JARKKO Eskelinen on Apr 12th 2023

100A ouput, 50A charge per battery isint best in the class but ok for RV application. Small size gives option for placement of battery pack (underseat). Power on/off function is very usefull during storage and installation. Heating function oppears to be working, but would like to have temperature display on remote monitoring panel. Remote panel is not able to log or show history data that would be usefull for system operation and optimization.
