This charger can charge the house battery from a starter battery linked to the car alternator or by utilizing solar panels connected directly to the unit. Both methods can be used for charging, ensuring a variety of charging sources.
How do I select a suitable charger?
Take the specifications of the alternator and house battery into consideration, we generally recommend that the alternator specification is at least 1.5 times the charger specification. Meanwhile, the current of the charger's rated specification needs to be within the allowable range of the house battery.
What type of alternator is this on-board battery charger compatible with?
This battery charger is compatible with both traditional and smart alternators.
What is the difference between the traditional alternator and smart alternator? What should be specifically considered during installation?
Standard/traditional alternator has a fixed voltage when charging, while smart alternator is integrated with a controlled charging output based on operating conditions. For smart alternator, it is required to connect the charger to the smart alternator through the Vehicle Ignition Port by the IGN Signal Wire comes with the package.
What types of battery does the charger support?
This charger supports Gel, AGM, Flooded, and Lithium battery, but please make sure to set the correct battery type once it is installed. PS：The battery type on the product is adapted to the house battery.
How do I set the battery type since there is no display screen?
To change the battery type, you need to press the "Type" button located on the PV+ and ALT+ side of the DC-DC unit until the battery type indicator light switches to the desired battery type color. For more information, please refer to the user manual. Certainly, you can also use DCHOME or the dedicated monitoring screen of the charger to modify the battery type.
Does this charger support modifying the charging current?
Yes, this charger supports modifying the charging current. You can adjust the charging current when your battery bank temporarily cannot handle the rated current of the charger or to reduce the load on the alternator.
How can I modify the charging current?
You can use BT-2 Bluetooth Module to modify the charging current on the DC Home app or using the dedicated monitoring screen of the charger. Note: The charging current can be adjusted in increments of 10A.
What if the specifications of my solar panel exceed the limitation of the charger's input?
This can cause damage to the charger, so when sizing the solar panels, you need to strictly refer to the PV input requirements of the charger.

This charger has an IP32 waterproof rating, which means it is not waterproof.

The self-consumption of this charger is less than 60mA.
How will this charger work when the house battery is fully charged?
This Charger has a built-in Voltage Sensitive Relay (VSR), thanks to which the charger will trickle charge the house battery and maintain its fully charged status, and will also trickle charge the starter battery via solar panels.
